    RIVER SWEEP 2008 

Saluda Shoals Park offers many volunteer opportunites.  Volunteers can do anything from helping to keep our river clean to monitoring our blue bird boxes.  For more information about these opportunities please contact Jeanette Wells at 213-2051.


A short list of volunteer opportunities include:

Volunteer Nature Interpreters: Interact with and educate park guests at the wetland and river flood pain area. 

Special Event Volunteers: Holiday Lights, Earth Fair, Unearth

Bluebird Box Monitors: Walk a mile or two every week and record nesting activity

Park Maintenance: Help the Park Rangers with a variety of park tasks

River Sweep: Annual trash removal from the Saluda River and its banks on the third Saturday in September.

Adopt-A-Waterway: A removal of trash from the Saluda River three times during the year.

Great American Cleanup: This is an annual event that involves picking up litter inside the park.

Photographer: Document wildflowers, seasonal changes and visitor activity


 

 

Volunteer Nature Interpreter Program

Saluda Shoals Park is currently accepting applications for a new Volunteer Nature Interpreter program.  Nature Interpreters will interact with and educate park guests at the wetland and river flood plain area.  They will teach visitors about the park through natural and cultural interpretation.  Volunteer training is required.  To learn more, call Jeanette Wells at 213-2051.
