Afternoon Safari is designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment that offers a variety of opportunities for children to grow physically, socially and academically.
Our daily schedule includes an afternoon snack, recess, supervised homework time, social recreation and physical education. The children are grouped by grades as they rotate through these program areas. Activities include arts & crafts, reading, character building exercises, guest speakers/demonstrators and organized games. Special programming opportunities include computer lab access (where available), intergenerational programming, and lessons/classes.
Afternoon Safari is a program of the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission. ICRC has provided after school care in this community since 1991, earning a reputation of excellence for innovative programming, highly qualified staff and commitment to our partnership with District Five schools.
