Animals and Watching Wildlife

Learn about the animals at Saluda Shoals Park and practice some of the best ways to observe them.  Binoculars and magnifying lenses will be provided, or you can bring your own!

Earth and Sky/Eco Explorer

Study soil just like a scientist does by taking soil samples, temperatures, exploring nature, and even make your own rocks!

Junior Workshops

Earth Connections

Just like an Ecologist study soil, take soil samples and look closely at plants to understand the relationship between soils and plants in Saluda Shoals Park. Learn to identify trees and determine their age.

Wildlife

Study and identify the animals of Saluda Shoals Park by using field guides and binoculars, and also study a few bird calls.  Using microscopes, take an up close look at insects or plants found on hikes.  Binoculars and field guides are available, but you are also welcome to bring your own!
