Designer Guidelines
General Fashion must consist of at least 75% recyclable or re-used materials that would otherwise be thrown away or recycled. Submissions must be the original work of the applicant. Some suggested materials include: cardboard, steel/tin, aluminum, plastics, and mixed papers (magazines, junk mail, catalogs, etc). Use your imagination!
Excluded Items The following items will not be accepted: Items that are purchased new, items around your house that are still good for their original intent (i.e. unused trash bags), and vintage clothing.
Safety Please make sure the materials used in your creation are safe to yourself and the public.
Appropriate The audience will be open to all ages. While we do not want to restrict creativity please consider this a “family friendly” event when considering your design. Fashions that are offensive, obscene, or too revealing will not be allowed on the runway.
Keep In Mind You or your designated model will need to walk up a few steps onto the runway, please make sure your creation will allow this movement.
Judging Fashions will be judged with 3 age groups: High School, College, Adult. Criteria used for judging are: use of materials, creativity, originality, wear ability, quality of craftsmanship, completeness
