Afternoon Safari is now registering for the 2026-2027 school year. At Safari, our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive — physically, socially, academically, and emotionally. Our afterschool program includes a snack, homework support, and fun, age-appropriate activities like arts & crafts, team games, and active play— all designed to help children grow and shine. Thank you to the Mungo Homes Foundation for spending part of their Week of Service supporting the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission’s Therapeutic Recreation spaces. Last week, their volunteers deep cleaned the Therapeutic Recreation youth space, sorted and organized CAST props and costumes, and painted the Palmetto Enrichment Program (PEP) activity room. ☀️ Summer is almost here, and we’re kicking things off with a Fun Friday Summer Bash at Crooked Creek Park tonight at 7 PM! Coming this June! Slip, Slide, & Splash – An Inflatable Waterslide Event 💦 📅 Saturday, June 13 | 10 AM–2 PM Get ready for a fun-filled day this summer featuring a variety of inflatable water slides, a splash pad, and delicious food trucks for the whole family to enjoy! The event will be located between Leaphart Elementary and Seven Oaks Park. 🎟️ Tickets will be available soon and can be purchased online or on-site the day of the event. $15/person (Ages 3 & up) $5/person (Ages 2 & under) We can’t wait to make a splash with you!

Board Member Spotlight: Meet Alex Salmon, a dedicated board member of the Saluda Shoals Foundation since 2023. Alex is the Owner/Operator of Salmon Photo and Video where he uses video and photography to help businesses tell their stories. Alex and his wife, Blair, have been married for 19 years and have two amazing sons. As a family, they love exploring our great state, towing their camper along the way.
