Through the lemonade stand, our older campers gain valuable life skills in service, responsibility, and teamwork while learning the value of giving back to their community. Stop by the Summer Safari pick-up area on Fridays between 3:00-5:30 p.m., grab a treat, and support both our campers and a meaningful community program. Read More Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission, SC 1 week 1 day ago We’re excited to share a special addition to Saluda Shoals Park! This past Saturday, the Saluda Shoals Foundation celebrated the unveiling of a new sculpture by award-winning South Carolina artist Bob Doster, created with assistance from ICRC’s Summer Safari 2025. Last summer, campers traced turtle designs onto stainless-steel sheets and had the opportunity to assist in cutting out the turtles used in the final sculpture—and even named them: Rocky, Sheldon, and Tori. This installation is part of Saluda Shoals Park’s ongoing effort to bring public art into the park and create meaningful cultural experiences for the community. You can find Rocky, Sheldon, and Tori at the entrance of the Riverwalk at the Upper Boat Launch—be sure to check it out next time you visit! A special thank you to the Saluda Shoals Foundation and the C.W. and Dorothy G. Love Foundation for making this project possible. #SaludaShoalsPark #PublicArt Read More Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission, SC 1 week ago Recently, Seven Oaks Park Director Andrea Harris and Senior Services Manager Susie Elgin joined WIS Soda City Living to share how the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission serves our community through parks, people, and programs.
