Kayak the Lower Saluda
Single kayaks and tandem kayaks are available for rent on a first come first serve basis. This is a great way to get outdoors and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the Lower Saluda River. Rentals include all necessary equipment as well as a shuttle from the lower boat launch. Minimum weight requirement is 30 pounds. Boats and equipment must be returned to the boat launch by 5pm. Boats will not be rented when the river is above 2600 cfs. Call 803-479-9886 for more information.

Kayak rentals will also be available on Memorial Day and Labor Day from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
General Information
- A paddle from the upper to lower boat ramp generally takes one hour depending on river conditions.
- For two (2) hour rentals it is recommended that paddlers explore upstream before heading to the
lower boat ramp. - All boat rental patrons are required to wear a US coastguard approved life jacket the entire time
they are on the water. (life jackets are provided with rental) - Pets are not allowed on ICRC equipment or shuttles.
- Children must weigh a minimum of 30 pounds for boat rentals.
- Each participant under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
- No alcohol is permitted on boats.
- It is very likely that renters will get at least partially wet as water may splash over the sides of the boats. We recommend that renters plan accordingly.
- All renters must keep a credit card on file during the length of their rental. The following fee schedule will
apply to all rentals:- $25 per half hour per piece of equipment beyond quoted return time.
- $50 per damaged item (not to include equipment damaged beyond repair).
- $130 for a kayak paddle lost or damaged beyond repair.
- $140 for a PFD lost or damaged beyond repair.
- $789 for a single kayak lost or damaged beyond repair.
- $899 for a tandem kayak lost or damaged beyond repair.

Fees
- One (1) hour rental/$25
- Two (2) hour rental/$35
- All day rental/$50.
- All boat rentals include shuttle service.
- A pre-shuttle service is available for personal boats at $10/per vehicle. This service allows the user to drop their equipment off at the Upper Boat Ramp and then drive their vehicle to the Lower Boat Ramp. The user is then shuttled back to their equipment. Please be aware that park staff cannot shuttle personal equipment on park trailers or vehicles.
